This is the territory that “FOR WALLS WITH TONGUES” explores as it happened in regard to the creation of public murals in Britain in the late twentieth century.  FWWT mainly concentrates on formally trained artists who sought, in various styles, to make accessible art by painting large murals in places such as street walls and gable ends, where their work was freely viewable. I crave forgiveness for another email hard on the heels of the last, I don't send many overall and the frequency is erratic. This missive highlights a written contribution by yours truly, to an online portal so no galleries to visit or trekking out in gloomy winter evenings -: Highly flattered I was, to be asked to contribute to the online forum  www.instantloveland.com   a website devoted to abstract art, examining and debating the diverse forms of art practise. I am indebted to the incredible patience and skills of the editors John Bunker  www.johnbunkerartist.com  and Matt Dennis. As I had chosen to write about a visit I had made to an open studio event many years ago (and it was a very very long time ago!!), we had some interesting discussions about the subsequent changes in the art world once I had submitted my first draft. This whole project has been challenging as well as food for thought for me certainly, and extremely rewarding. I hope you enjoy my foray into the

Sharon Drew  – Immersion 23 September - 27 November 2019 Private View: Thursday 26 September 6-8.30p m RSVP William Road Gallery  @ John McAslan &;; Partners 7-9 William Road, London NW1 3ER Sharon Drew has been invited to exhibit her abstract  paintings   at William Road Gallery. By recreating the sensation of light,  colour, rhythm and movement  Drew finds in landscape, her work  brings a visceral element to the gallery setting. This new series includes large-scale paintings  and captures the  essence of visits to urban and  coastal shorelines. Building up  opaque and  translucent layers with repetitive and rhythmic  gestures she emulates the constant fluctuations  of nature. In contrast to the measured and calculated  methods of the   architects whose practice houses  the gallery, Drew's works   result from a process of  only just controlling the paint, of   letting the material  lead the way. The desire

Mehrak Davoudi | The Illumination of the Soul 19 September - 6 October 2019 Private View: Thursday 19 September 6.30 - 9pm The Muse Gallery | 269 Portobello Road | London W11 1LR Mehrak Davoudi last exhibited at the Muse as part of  the gallery's residency program competition last year  and returns with a solo show of new works this Autumn. Manipulatied to reveal and obscure, to turn the inside  out, Davoudi's sculptures invite contemplation on the  memories and emotions hidden within the folds of  these contorted objects. The works' reflective surface simultaneously mirrors the artist's personal experience  that informed the work, and the viewer's reflection upon it. The Illumination of the Soul  is a contemporary interpretation of ancient philosophies and invites light  to blend the tangible with the sub-conscious. Mehrak Davoudi is a London-based artist of Iranian origin who works in sculpture, pai

The Muse Residency Program End of Residency Exhibition  2019 27 June to 14 July 2019 Private View: Thursday 27 June 2010,  6.30 - 9.00 pm The Muse Gallery, 269 Portobello Road,  London W11 1LR Yambe Tam and Yuichiro Kikuma have been working alongside each other for their six-month residency at the Muse. Despite not  always using the studio at the same time, a certain symbiosis between their resulting works is evident. Yuichiro has developed a series of work that tests the limits of painting as a medium. He likens his process to weaving as he applies a semi-automatic method to painting. The resulting patterns combine systematic and repetitive actions to a unique whole defined  by the marks' unique irregularities Yambe's practice is not limited to a particular discipline or medium The paintings and objects she created during her time at the Muse form part of an ongoing project that combines ancient materials with c
