Winter exhibition at Linden Hall Gallery

Image
I hope that you are safe and well in these difficult times. Despite all the uncertainties, the arts are still with us and I would like to thank Linden Hall Gallery https://lindenhallstudio.co.uk / in Deal, Kent, UK for selecting my sculpture 'Galan' for their winter exhibition. Once more, I am delighted to be in superb company, some of whom I have known for many years. Linden Hall is a superb venue and a beautiful place to exhibit and I am thrilled that the gallery is open to see the work and operating a very Covid safe space for those able to get there. The show will also be online from 10am Wednesday 2nd December until 30th January 2021, for you to visit whenever you want to; so you can relax with a mince pie and your tipple of choice from the comfort of your sofa and enjoy the show! Stay safe and stay well. 'Galan' is a small bronze on alabaster.

Judith Burrows | Uncertain States

Judith Burrows | Uncertain States 8 - 23 December 2020 Tuesday-Friday 11am to 3pm | Saturday 2-6pm or by appointment Private View Thursday, 10 December 2020, 5-9pm* 40 City Road | London EC1Y 2AN   RSVP *  to comply with social distancing regulations attendance is subject to timed entry With 'Uncertain States' Judith Burrows presents a site specific installation comprising metal wall panels and sculptures, lithographs and paintings that challenge concepts of time and memory while embodying both age and agelessness. Lone figures in empty streets and deserted landscapes are a recurring motif in her paintings, with a palette defined by pigments derived from rust and organic sources. Similarly rich tones are evident in her metal sculptures, achieved by a deliberate alchemical process of corrosion and decay, thus creating a fragility with an overriding theme of lostness, uncertainty and precarity. Initially conceived in 2018 as a response to political and societal unease, latent n

Hanna ten Doornkaat - Essentially Grey

Image
Hanna ten Doornkaat  - Essentially Grey 17 September to 4 October 2020 Private View:  Thursday 17 September 6-9pm* The Muse Gallery   269 Portobello Road  London W11 1LR Following corona hiatus and annual holidays, The Muse reboots its exhibition programme with Hanna ten Doornkaat's solo show which was originally scheduled for June. Essentially Grey is a meditation on colour, our perception and preconception and our emotional response to colours vis-à-vis their deliberate omission. Hanna ten Doornkaat's background in sculpture is evident as she builds up layers of lines and grids interspersed with seemingly accidental marks to create depth and perspective. Created predominantly in graphite pencil, small wood panels may be regarded as stand alone works or in relation to each other. First shown as part of the Venice Biennale last year, an installation abstracting the essence of Canaletto on 34 panels will be shown al
