Waiting for you is an exhibition by London artist Mandy Williams

Waiting for you is an exhibition by London artist Mandy Williams featuring photography and video from 2009-2013.

The exhibition explores home as a place of aspiration and desire in the 21st century. Like her previous work, it is interested in the fusion of home and identity and how our social and affective lives interconnect. It looks at the seductiveness of home at a time of social instability.

CULTIVATE VYNER STREET

Cultivate, Vyner Street

7th March and running through until 20th March. Once again the title of the show is vague and open to your interpretation, imagination. We’re thinking the fresh shoots of spring, lush painted canvas, greenness, ripeness, freshness, leaves, buds, flowers, life, green green green, fresh fresh, new… We invite submissions ideas, thoughts.

There are no size restrictions, no rules, if we think it fits and it excites us enough to want it on the walls or plinths of Cultivate then we’ll take it from there. The show is open to all artistic disciplines

For more information and full details please contactinfo@cultivatevynerstreet.com

'RED REVISED'
Opening night: Thursday 28th March, 18:00 - 21:00
Then from: Friday 29th March - 9th April 2013

RED REVISED - Eighteen months on from the original takeover of our corner space, smack bang in the middle of Vyner Street and all that the street stands for, eighteen months on from the night of the naked red men, the rush to get the door open and then our first formal group show, Red… Eighteen months on we shall revisit the red theme. and in doing so, exam what was originally only going to be a six month artist-run exploration of things from a gallery-person’s point of view via the full time running of a space right in the centre of things.

RED REVISED, our 57th Cultivate event, bookends eighteen months (one more year than expected) in our Vyner Street space rather nicely…

RED REVISED will be a two week group show. For a second time we will fill our walls and plinths with art of a predominantly red nature, a diverse show and a busy space united in its redness.

RED REVISED will open on the evening of Thursday March 28th, with a second late night evening opening for April First Thursday (4th April). Usual gallery open times during the day (11.30am – 6pm Thursday to Sunday, by appointment, Monday - Wednesday).

We once again invite artists to submit art of a red nature, we envisage a room alive with vivid red art, we invite submissions from contemporary painters, small scale sculptors, street artists, print makers, maybe a photographer or two, anyone who thinks they have something to offer the show….

Artists who wish to get involved should make contact for more details…

CULTIVATE VYNER STREET is an artist-run space, we like people to get involved -info@cultivatevynerstreet.com
