News from Oaks Editions Lithography Studio

I am pleased to let you know that my Oaks Park studio is taking part in IMPRESS 13, the international printmaking festival in Stroud and around Gloucestershire.  The studio is represented with works by Alberta Bamonte, Hannah Barnes, Annabel Cullen, Malcolm Franklin, Heather Upton and me, which are on show along with works from other print studios around the country at Stroud School of Art.  You can see our prints on www.facebook.com/OaksEditionsLithographyStudio
“Meet the artists”, aka the PV, is this Thursday 28th February 6-8pm. 
HUGHIE O’DONOGHUE is speaking on Friday 1st March to open the festival in Stroud
and there are many other exhibitions and events on offer throughout March.
A sumptuously illustrated catalogue is available for £7.50.

Typically based on specific areas, be they counties, cities, districts or whatever, it involves artists inviting members of the public to visit their studios, to meet and talk with them, and to view their output. And it is always an added attraction if they can see artists at work. The area of West Sussex centred on Chichester has a particularly lively tradition, and is rich in creative talent, as the writer discovered on a recent visit. The occasion for this was to renew acquaintance with Max Birne, a former FPS personality, who has recently moved house from Wembley, where he had lived for many years, to Selsey, near Eric Coates’s ‘Sleepy Lagoon’.
