Friday 14 February 2014, 7.15pm to 8.30pm. Drinks served from 7. Join us to be:
To be romanced by poet John Haynes (winner Costa Poetry Prize)
To be soothed by gentle music
To be encouraged and emboldened by local love poet Stella Bahin
To sip sparkling wine or fruit juice
To be bathed in candle-light
To read your own favourite love poem or another’s - the most lovely reading wins a bottle of champagne
To celebrate with us – alone, in couples, in trios, whatever you choose – the enduring power of love

TUDOR VOICES. Beginning with authentic
16th century music from Gera Lambeth, the evening moves into a series of dramatic readings celebrating the written word of the Tudor period, from Nicola and John Scadding. Tickets £6.00 includes a glass of mead or spiced apple. |

BOOK GROUP. An opportunity to spend a
pleasant evening with others interested in quality modern writing. Introduced by the Literary Festival Director, Tim Dawes, we will be discussing Harvest by Jim Crace. Short-listed for the 2013 Booker, this latest novel by one of our greatest living novelists is a delight. Tickets £6.00 includes a glass of wine or soft drink from the bar. |
