I am delighted that Masango (bright red and hanging from the ceiling!) has been selected by Sadie Clayton for the Discerning Eye exhibition. On show now at the Mall Galleries, London,  from  Thursday 15 November to Sunday 25 November 2018  at  The Mall Galleries, London SW1  every day from  10am to 5pm . Admission is  FREE  and all the works are all for sale As usual, The Discerning Eye is a great exhibition of small works. I do hope that you will be able to get along, there is something for everyone. If I dont see you there, I hope we catch up another time I have more new shows early in the new year, details to follow

The Free Painters and Sculptors Collective is delighted to announce the London Ultra a new open submission exhibition to be held at the Oxo Tower Wharf's industrial  Bargehouse  Gallery on London's iconic Southbank PRIZES: This year will feature the Roy Rasmussen Prize (£1000) as well as the Ultra Art prize (£1000) and under 25's Ultra art prize (£500) WHO CAN APPLY? Ultra is an exciting experimental and celebratory format that all Artists, Collectives and Performers working with any medium or style can apply. The Discerning Eye Exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday 15 November to Sunday 25 November 2018 . As usual it will be held at The Mall Galleries in the heart of London, just a few steps from The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery. It will be open every day from 10am to 5pm, admission will be FREE and all works will be for sale. The exhibition will include works from both well-known artists and from emerging talents. The Discerning Eye annual exhibition is a show of small works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics . The selectors choose both publicly submitted works and works by personally invited artists. Each selector's section is hung separately to give each its own distinctive identity. Employment status, the ‘gig economy’ and ‘art educators’ at the National Gallery Recent high-profile Employment Tribunals about employment status include cases involving Pimlico Plumbers, Uber, CitySprint and Deliveroo. These all involved workers in the private sector. But precarious terms and conditions of employment affect workers in public sector institutions too, either through outsourcing, or through long-term anomalies. For decades art educators at the National Gallery in London welcomed school tours and visitors, gave talks, workshops and offered information about the history of the Gallery and the art on display. The people that did these jobs had their employment terminated in late 2017, and some of them were offered the opportunity to apply for vacancies, reportedly on lesser terms and conditions. Applications are now open for Shape Arts 2019 Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary!  Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary (ARMB), the annual award set up in memory of sculptor Adam Reynolds to support mid-career disabled artists, is now open for applications.
